Nickelback - Dark Horse (FLAC Format)



Dark Horse is the sixth studio album by the Canadian post-grunge band Nickelback, released on November 18, 2008.

Work on "Dark Horse" began in March, after Nickelback made its long-awaited contact with Mutt Lange. The band travelled to the producer's home base in Switzerland to begin going over song ideas. The album was recorded from mid- to late-2008 in Chad Kroeger's converted barn studio in Vancouver, BC, and was co-produced by the band with Mutt Lange, known for producing records by AC/DC, Bryan Adams and Def Leppard.

The first single from the album was "Gotta Be Somebody", which was released online for free download on September 29, 2008 for a strict 24 hour period . "If Today Was Your Last Day" was the originally planned lead single but was scrapped at the last minute.

According to lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, more of the songs contain adult themes in the lyrics. The album contains songs from a myriad of rock styles, from ballads to metal to country.

The track "Something In Your Mouth" was leaked onto the web on October 27, 2008 and became available for download on the U.S. iTunes store on October 28 as the second official single from the album. The song displays a faster paced and heavier riff than their previously released "Gotta Be Somebody".

What are FLAC Formatted Files?

FLAC files are lossless digital audio files, which means they retain all of the quality of the original CD, or other source. Normally the benchmark for a "cd quality" rip is 320 kbps, but with a FLAC encoded song the quality can range anywhere from 800 to 1800 kbps. The quality is basically a mirror image of the original source. File downloads will usually contain the music in one of two formats: either as an image file along with the FLAC file, or with each song seperated individually like you'll normally see.

If the file contains an image and a FLAC file, simply double click the image file and Nero will launch. Make sure you choose to not have any pause between songs, click "burn", and the burning process begins.

If the file contains individual songs, then you would simply need to drag the music into Nero and complete the burning process as usual.

I prefer to do the majority of my media burning using Nero. Depending on which version of Nero you use, you might have to install a codec plugin pack in order to use Nero to burn FLAC files. You'll know wether or not you need the plugin simply by dragging a FLAC song into Nero. If it allows you to do so, then you're all set. if it says it doesn't support the format, then you'll need the plugin pack which you can download below. Don't change any of the install directories .. it will install right into Nero. Launch Nero after the install and you should be able to add the FLAC media into Nero and continue the burn process as usual.
